Aescopoli's Plea

Remorse for You
Kindred and Un-homed
At the Stone-Kissed Skull I Remonstrate
And Find You Changed

The Density of Hippocrate's Shield
Has Done as Much [To Trouble Me]
And Wiegh Us Pilgrims
In Exile

As the Severed Burden
Sold to Us by the Masters [Of the World]
Whom Embraced the Isolated Faculties
In AEtheric Warmth

; And the Capitol May Burn
As It Ought to do;
Though Folly Would it Be
To Marvel At Your Work

Whilst Your Children Beg

This poem is the first in a series that I completed while taking our break-period in my anthropology class. The semester is the Spring 2006 period.
